This is my first hanwei short sword, primarily to be used for kata. It is very tight and appears to be built similar to the other chen that I have handled. It did have a portion of the blade 3″ from tip that required sharpening however the rest of the blade was satisfactory. I did not purchase this wakazashi for cutting but Im sure that some time in the future it will be put to the test.
Blade is thin like most practical. I have had no issues with this device and have no regrets about the purchase. JS4S has excellent service and shipping is f a s t.

This is a follow up to my earlier review. I am a bit anal about my swords, so after minor sharpening/ polish this is one sharp blade. I am more than satisfied with its performance as a cutting device. light. fast. 4-1/2 stars.
